Today I learnt a lot of new things about myself.

This afternoon, I was feeling unwell. I had a pretty bad stomach ache, however with my Mum around; she helped me rub oil on my tummy to get rid of the air in it. After she put a heat pad on my stomach and with a few burps and don't mind me saying "POOTS", I felt much better. My aunt brought me to get my Hi-card as my other phone line is going to get terminated anytime soon, I will not touch on that topic. And yes I feel that there are people around me who cares about me and as mother's day is coming I just want to say a special thank you to my MUMMY for she is so caring and Loving to me.

Mum if you are reading this, I want to say that "I LOVE YOU MUM AND I BELIEVE IT'S MY TURN TO TAKE CARE OF YOU NOW!"

Special thanks to the entire mum's around for caring for their children.

So let's care and celebrate the upcoming mother's day by loving one another in the family as well as friend's. Love thy neighbour guys!

To end i shall end with a few passage from the bible,

Matthew 19:19 - “honour your father and mother, and love your neighbour as yourself."

What is Love then?

Post Fact camp 2009 (Are you hot or... lukewarm)

Are you hot….. or Lukewarm?

Every aspects of Stop, Record and play camp have surely been memorable for me. Messing around in a pool of raw eggs, cooking oil and sea water to getting a severe sun burnt I believe it was all worth while.

You see what I have learnt throughout this camp is that God wants his children to be totally committed to him.

We were told in the book of Revelation to be either hot or cold for the lord, but lukewarm won’t get us anywhere. Many of the Israelites were trying to be lukewarm.“I know your deeds that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm- neither hot or cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:15-16

As you read about the story of Elijah from 1 kings 17-19, we can see that when God spoke, Elijah didn’t hesitate to obey. Elijah willingly confronted King Ahab and told him that God wasn’t too pleased with the way things were going, and if he didn’t take a turn for the better (And get people to start worshiping God instead of Baal), he’d be mightily sorry because there wouldn’t be any rain and a famine would sweep the country. But King Ahab didn’t listen.

Next, God told Elijah to hit the wilderness, a place called Kerith Brook. Now while you may begin to think that being banished could get boring, the Bible tells us that God provided for every one of Elijah’s needs. The lord sent Ravens to bring him food everyday. (Pretty good room service huh?)

A few years passed, and God spoke again. This time he told Elijah to go talk to King Ahab again. And he didn’t think, “Wait a minute. That can’t be God’s voice, because he’s to one who told me to come here. Must be Satan. Or maybe it’s just my own thoughts. It would be kind off nice to be in the accompany of people again. However, Elijah didn’t have to procrastinate; he knew God’s voice. And when God spoke he responded.You could have probably imagine how Kind Ahab reacted when he saw Elijah heading for the palace. He shook his finger at God’s man and screamed, “You! You’re the one who’s responsible for this mess!”And it really was a mess. Just as Elijah had predicted, God had withheld the rains for three years, people were dying, the crops has withered… the country was a disaster.But Elijah stood his ground. “I’m not the reason for this famine; you are! I told you this would happen. God has allowed our country to suffer because of the way you have chosen to rule.” “But…but. I...” ( Be glad Ahab never spoke for one of your school assemblies. He stammered so much it would have taken forever to get to his point across.)“Listen, Ahab! Almost the entire country is worshiping Baal, but people think they can worship the Lord too. That is not right. God wants to turn the hearts of his people completely back to him.”

"You were taught,with regards to your former ways to put off your old self,which is being corrupted by it's deceitful desires;to be made new in the attitudes of your mind; and to put on the new self,created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."Ephesians 4:22-24

Therefore I believe all of us should 1) Stop and turn away from our former ways 2) Be made new in the attitude of our mind 3) play our life out in true righteousness and holiness believing that God will lead us through ever step 4) ask God to help you stay “Hot” – totally committed to him.

So guys lets STOP,RECORD,PLAY and STAY commited to GOD!

Early morning is goanna start cracking back again due to a major event in life looming ahead. And yes the clock has been ticking down and it's two more weeks to be precise till my enlistment into national service. How fast is that? Guess what I got PES E9L9 status man plus an excuse from BMT how cool is that? No gruelling exercises and no running about wheew!

Hahas woke up like real early today man. Guess it's good training for army hahas but no that's not the main reason. The reason is that I had a scheduled recording with Sean at my house. This time I use the method of multi track recording and guess what i figured everything out myself. Woots!!! Solved the latency problem did panning and all. I'm just so proud of that accomplishment. You see Sound egineering is so much fun!

My Testimony From: Justin Lu Zhao En

Hi my name is Justin Lu and I am 18 going 19 years old this year. I am here today to share with you my testimony which depicts my life story. And, I would like to thank everyone who is listening to it now. You know, in the past I was very notorious and I could not care less about my studies also I was an “Ah beng” .I thought that reading the word of God was a chore to me. Thus, I inflicted pain on myself due to that burden in my heart everyday. That burden of wanting to achieve much more than I wanted to achieve in my studies. However things did not turn out my way as I floundered in my studies. How did I inflict that pain on myself? I did self mutilation as well as tattooing.

I was once a smoker and I use to smoke at an approximate of one and a half packets of cigarettes a day. I will never say that quitting smoking is easy. However, let me tell you that quitting is hard but not quitting is even harder. For those who have already quitted smoking, if people ask you to pick up that bad habit again, just remember that there are people in front of you, it may be 10 a 100 a 1000 or even just one person tempting you to smoke but once you say “NO” all of them will be defeated. Thus this book in my hand is a book that displays my trust in the Lord that he has taken my temptation of smoking away.

Fast forward into the present, one thing new that I have learned is not to worry. If I worry it means I don’t even trust in my Lord. So how do we get rid of our worries? The fact is you can cast it upon the lord and depend on the Lord rather than worrying about what your are going to eat or where are you going next, for in Matthew 6:25-27 it says, ‘25That is why I tell you not to worry about your everyday life- whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 can all your worries add a single a single moment in life?’ I repeat can all your worries add a single moment in life? The answer is no. Today I would say I feel much healthier of myself after quitting smoking, changing my lifestyle and turning my eyes upon Jesus. I feel much more joyful and cheerful and “ya” “ya” “ya” also more handsome (Laughs)!

Now I understand that spiritual discipline is like physical discipline. What makes you say so? You may be asking me. It is due to the fact that both of them are a process and your muscle doesn’t take shape overnight. Consistency is the key and be determine to take your spiritual training seriously. Quoting from the Bible from 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, it says that “24Don‘t realize that that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25All athletes are discipline in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away but we do it for an eternal prize.’ That eternal prize is our Lord Jesus Christ. You know having that great discipline it moulds you to become that spiritual Iron man or woman for the Lord and in order to establish that we have to have a routine in our daily walk with God and most importantly, follow it. Make yourself accountable to your spiritual leaders and yourself and last of all memorize scriptures. I would like to say that those who want to change their attitude and become a better person have faith in your self because faith brings joy as it is written in Romans 5:1-6, do go home and read it. Thus I would like to end my testimony by giving thanks to my parents, and all those pastors and leaders and spiritual brothers who have impacted my life by their encouragement and support all these while, through my up and downs. Thank you for never giving up on me. Last of all I would like to thank all of you for listening to my testimony. God bless you!! Smile ya!

PSP EVENT!!

Ok i know you guys have been waiting for this man so here is it.
The event was hosted at the church of the good sheperd and it was officially named Project sheperd Pie due to the resemblance to the church itself.
Many hours of practise and sleepless night came down to that day 25th of july 2009 in which we have to take that responsibility to be that mouthpiece for the lord.
Practise in the early morning on that particular day was exhuasting but all worth it. And yes our effort paid off with an awesome presentation on that particular friday evening. Thus it truly represented how God was with us all the way as many of us had just recovered from sicknesses such as flu,sore throat, runny nose and even vertigo. with me having a pretty "Jia Lat" flu I was also being put under that pressure to perform my best for the lord.

PS:I was playing a percussion instrument called a cajon which is pronouced as Cahon due to it's origin which is from Mexico.

Foreword

Music is a gift from God it's good only if you use it in the right way.

Before you start to embark on your journey on learning the art of drumming ask yourself this question "what makes me want to learn drums?"

These are some answers,see if you can recognise yourself in it.

I have a good sense of rhythm: Okay this is a good start. Drummers must have a great sense of rhythm and must be able to keep a constant beat and time.The drummer is the timekeeper of the band and he has to feel/express a solid pulse and play intricate rhythm around that pulse.

I look good behind the drums: This is a danger waiting to happen because drumming is not about appearance, it's about talent/gifting and feeling the right groove.

I like to play Air drums: Waving your hand in the air does not make you drummer material.sorry.

I appreciate drum as a form of artistic expression only capable in the mastery of the instrument: Yes that's right.Not that you cannot have fun,however drums is serious stuff, and you will find a lot of serious drummers out there.Just listen to a Kenny Aronoff or a steve smith talk about roots and techniques and musicianship,and you will see lots of stuff you can explore.

I think drumming would be fun: Read the previous paragraph yes drumming is fun,but it also involve seriousness.If you don't mind mixing hard work with your fun,then you would have the right mind-set to becoming a successful drummer.

Perhaps the best reason to playing drums in my point of view is because I love the way it sound,I love listening to other drummers,and i love picking up my drums sticks and playing on my drum set/drum pad.If You have the "LOVE " for drums then you are well on your way to becoming a great/success full drummer.

What do drummers do?

Keep the beat:

The drummer is the timekeeper of the band,he sets the tempo ex.96bpm and you make sure your band keep the tempo.

Drive the band:

Beyond keeping the beat you have to make the beat exciting. You drive the band forward.,making a groove that get the audience up and moving.

Set things up:

when there is something major coming up ex.chorus,the climax of a big solo,or the change in dynamics or instrumentation, it's the drummers job to lead the band into the next section. The set up/fills brings the band from one part to another and give a little punch to the parts that need it.

Complement and interact with other players:

A good and experience drummer makes everyone else sound better.It's not good to sound good yourself and have a solid beat it would be good to perform some licks and flourishes that pull the best out of the musician without drawing undue attention to yourself! You have to listen on what is going on when the band is playing and anticipate what is coming next and then add a fills and accent or crashes.You have to work with the bass player to create the most solid beat.

Add colour and variety:

If all you wanted was a solid beat you could program a drum machine and skip the gig yourself. The best drummers go beyond that simple beat and make that song sound way better.So lay down a solid beat and try to play abit more here and there.

So yes here I Sign off with my new drum solo.

Life and it's unending journey.

My fridge is seriously filled with all sorts of stuff but honestly there is nothing in there for me to munch right away except for a few pieces of whole meal bread bundled in a rather huge plastic bag. So yes I am munching on a piece of whole meal bread topped with my favourite "Ayam brand, Tuna with mayo" woots!!! You see my week if i describe it in two words it would be,busy and tiring hahas. Let's see let me summarise my week...

My week started of slowly with only a few task to do such as going for a workshop on monday and spending time with my family members on tuesday. However when it came to wednesday things went uphill.

So lets zoom into wednesday.
- woke up 8.30am
- Wash up + breakfast,8.30am-9.25am
- use the com ,9.25am - 10am
- practise guitar, 10am- 11.45
- work for my father, 11.45am - 12.30pm
- Lunch,12.30-1pm
- wash up/Get ready to leave, 1pm-1.25pm
- Leave house, 1pm
- Reach Singapore youth for christ office aka Emmanuel house for bible studies, 2.25pm

ok lets stop here and talk about bible studies.You see in bible studies I learned that my life should begin with God because God is my creator and that he determines time and space and that God is the only cause of my existence and survival and that God is the judge of all thing and that God hates sinners who do not repent. Sin = Against god = Rebellion. I also come to my understanding that Jesus is the last prophet,priest and the King that will reign forever and that he is better than life.Thus I ask myself in times of prosecution will I still acknowldge Jesus as my Lord and saviour. Easier said than done ya?

Ok on a lighter note Practise that followed after bible studies was really draining sometimes i found myself missing the beat,rushing and not keeping in time with the band but hey people learn from mistakes and I am one such person. Learning from my mistakes not only make me stronger but it also brings me into a different level which is learning more skills.To me everyday is a learning day.Also I have to always remember what makes me practise is it for fame? I believe i should look into just one perspective which is glorifying God. To my other band mates and the drama team, "PRESS ON GUYS JIA YO!!!"

I have been seeing alot of news on the various media Channels ex. the television. News of Countries going against one another, the H1N1 virus hitting our shores and PM Lee's radical proposal regarding the major overhaul of Singapore's politics. These struck a chord in my heart as I Pondered on what was going to happen next. Will there be more cases of the H1N1 virus? Will there be more fights between nations? What will happen to Singapore if another party takes over the current government consisting of the PAP? Have you guys ever thought of these visible consequences? ps: You may be thinking i am paranoid but the truth is ,i'm not because this is the truth.

My heartfelt prayers goes out to this world for peace to cover everyone, every place and every country and that May God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

THE HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS

The Harlem Globetrotters an exhibition basketball team that combines athleticism, theater, and comedy visited our shores recently. The event was kick start with a impromptu singing competition consisting of members from the audience. Later their mascot Globie hyped up the atmosphere with his energised dance performance. I could certainly feel that that night would be a night to remember.

The Harlem's was matched against their bitter rivals the Washington Generals in which the Generals have not won a match against them since the year 1962 and for sure the Harlem's where expected to win. Smoke coming from the entrance of the tunnel towards the court and wild cheers from the spectators greeted the Harlem's as they entered the court. They dazzled the crowd with nifty moves that makes the ball seems glued to their body.

The crowd was treated to a night of laugther and entertainment which consisted of the Harlem's captain "BIG EASY" ripping the clothes of one of the Washington Generals players to one of the Harlem players jumping over the referee to Slam Dunk. What an amazing night it was.

BLISTER BLISTERS BLISTERS now i have holes in my soles:( :(
The very sight of my supa large blister is super disgusting man.
Lets not go to details.

Hahas played soccer the day before with the AMK Methodist church team.My leg was still hurting from the blisters but nevertheless i carried on playing. We won eventually hur hur!!

At night i met up with my band mates for a short jamming session and guess what we came up with a new band name!! "SALINE SOLUTION" cool ha??

Today has been all but back to normal. Typical stuff like eating brunch, visiting grandma and using the com nothing spectacular.

So you wanna hear some spectacular stuff come back to my blog next time ya!!

PS: CAN GOD HEAL MY BLISTERS AND GET RID OF MY PIMPLES?? If yes i'm going for the healing service!

There was a blind lady who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.
He asked her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life
led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes.Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who as always by their side in the most painful situations.
Life Is a Gift

This is a true story that happened in Japan .

In order to renovate the house,

someone in Japan breaks open the wall.

Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there

because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet.

He sees this, feels pity, and at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail,

it was nailed 10 years ago when the house was! first built.

What happened?

The lizard has survived in such position for 10 years!

In a dark wall partition for 10 years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 10 years! without moving a single step--since its foot was nailed!

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what it has been doing, and what and how it has been eating.

Later, not knowing from where it came, appears another lizard, with food in its mouth..

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.

For the lizard that was stuck by nail, another lizard has been feeding it for the past 10 years. ;

Imagine? it has been doing that untiringly for 10 long years, without giving up hope on its partner.

Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with a brilliant mind can't.

Please never abandon your loved ones

What is worship??

This weekend, PLANET SHAKERS dropped by our little island with such captivating music that touched lives and captured many hearts.Also we were really pumped up by Planet shakers very own anointed Pastor who cracked up some jokes during the midst of his sermons. It was a very fun filled experience. Yes i am talking about Fusion 2009 for those who might not know. Through all this I really ponder why do we worship our lord? Is it because others are worshiping him too??

The answer can be found in 1st corinthians 10:31.
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God"

yes worshiping God is Glorifying him.

Worship= worthship -> Devoting the worthiness of an individual to receive special honour in accordance with his worth.

How do we glorify God?

1) cultivate a habit of including God in every segment of your life. Thus explaining 1 cor 10:31.

2) Refusing to expect or accept any glory that belongs to God.
Ask yourself why are you serving?? Is it really to glorify God.

3)Mantaining a priority relationship with HIM that is more important than any other on earth.

4) Living a life of giving.

IT would be good to spent time exercising with a love one occasionally!

The most precious moment to remember is that with your parents. They gave you your name,paid for your school bills,hand phone bills and treasured you so much.Can you see that your parents love you so deeply? Do spend more time with your parents and understand what are their thoughts as these little moments spent together with them would remain in your heart forever. Would you wait till they leave this Earth before saying "I LOVE YOU" to them? Think about it. So thus urging all of you to you to acknowledge every little beneficial act they had done or are doing for you.

Looking back and pondering of the happy times my family spent together during that Christmas season I then asked myself ,what is the true meaning of Christmas ? To some Christmas is about Santa clause, Rudolph the red nose reindeer or even the little Elf's but the fact is that it is to remind us about Christ glory.Christmas is also to remind us about the birth of Jesus Christ, for Christmas would not be complete without Christ. It could have been JustMas but it is not it is Christmas. So lets recognise our creator who is Jesus.So next Christmas celebrate God's Glory above all else!

The remedy to your worries.

It has been very typical for all of us to be worrying. What kinds of worries are hindering us these days? Worrying about how do we provide for our family? Also for those who are studying, worrying about how well did they do in their exams? And this list of worries carries on. Therefore we have to ponder on how we can get rid of our worries. Thus by pondering about this I have summed up the way how we can cure our worries.

First things foremost your worries is not equivalent to your concern.

Look at this:

-Worry reveals lack of trust in God
-Worry also affects our relationship
-Worry affects our health ex. High blood pressure.
- Worry hinders our weakness

Therefore now evaluate yourself by focusing on God’s creation. For it is written in Matthew 6:26- “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you more valuable to him than they are?” So take your time to ponder. Also we must accept ourselves as Matthew 6:27 says that “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”
Also we must dedicate ourselves to the Lord which is written in Matthew 6:33 in which it says “Seek the Kingdom of God* above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Thus we must keep our passion alive and obey God first, pass your anxieties on the lord and also to not be anxious.

To conclude, we have to recognize God and that he is the all powerful and that he cares. God is the creator and that we have to strive in the strength that God has given to us. Cut off your bad habits and work on your talents.

Worry produces doubt:
God’s love is doubted
God’s wisdom is doubted
God’s power is doubted

So why worry cast all your worries upon the lord!!!

Ushering into the new year with a Bang

Waking up early to the bright scorching Sun that shone so brightly on my face was what greeted me as I Ushered into the first day of the new year.At 7:45Am in the morning most people would still be in their as most people call it "LA LA LAND" . It seems like a norm for most people to be doing that . However, that so called habit was once and for all being broken as the Ang Mo kio Methodist soccer Men/Boys/Guys strutted to the Cage which is an indoor soccer pitch located at the Singapore Khalsa club to play soccer together. The game started at around 9am with the Men/Boys/Guys being split into four teams. I was allocated to my team consisting of 4 more other players. The match went on very well and knowing that winning or losing was not the call of the day but it was all in the name of Fun. It was only a Bonus for me to score a few goals nothing more than that. Thus the day ended with all of us sweaty and smelly but most of all happy that we had ushered into this new year with a bang!!

2008(New beginning)
There are a few things I was absolutely petrified in the year 2008. First of all I knew that a "Goliath" which was my "O levels" loomed right ahead of me and I did always wonder to myself if i could complete my O levels. If I don't even take that effort to put more time into mugging up for my studies how am I able to sit for the exam . I floundered sometimes but somehow I pulled through and I know whatever result that may come my way is what I worked for. From 1(OK that's highly impossible) to 30++ points I will not get affected for I know my God have his plans to prosper me and not to harm me :) It was truly a year of new beginnings because i started my life anew without the toxicity of smoke getting into my lungs. Also this is the year i rededicated my life back to the Lord. I thank the lord for sending "Angels" in my path to help me see the truth again. I'm grateful.
2009 (Abundant life)
As we usher into this New Year and new season let's enter into God's promise of abundant living. Prosperity instead of survival; posterity instead of barreness; Provision instead of famines;plenteous instead of scarcity; physical wholeness instead of sickness;Productive restoration instead of loses. However in order to posses this abundant living we need to respond, believe and obey the Lord. We are to love God and Love people.
